"Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass"

The DeKalb Festival Chorus performed Joseph Haydn’s masterful Missa in Angustiis, or Lord Nelson Mass, with chamber orchestra. The program also featured Giacomo Carissimi’s heartwrenching baroque oratorio Jephte.

"NIU Choral Holiday Concert"

The DeKalb Festival Chorus joined the choirs and philharmonic of Northern Illinois University, directed by Eric Johnson. The chorus performed selections of its own repertoire and also joined the NIU ensembles for a performance of Anton Bruckner’s exultant Psalm 150.

The DeKalb Festival Chorus presented a holiday concert featuring works by Bach, Mendelssohn, Sweelinck, Gjielo, and more. The concert also sang the wartime classic “I’ll be Home for Christmas,” the Yoruba Christmas song “Betelehemu,” a rock arrangement of the Chanukah song “S’vivon,” and the premiere performance of a new arrangement by the conductor of the Appalachian Christmas tune “Brightest and Best.” The concert featured soprano Moonja Jeong, and was accompanied by piano, organ, and a percussion ensemble.
